TVB's own review:
An even more thrilling succession to the second series, the "Detective Investigation Files III" continues to depict mysterious murder cases solved by Yung (Dai Tai Yu) and Yi (Leung Wing Chung), while at the same time, goes on telling the love story of the two detectives.

The entangling relationship between Yung and Chit (Kenix Kwok) is further complicated by the emergence of Tung (Monica Chan). On the other hand, Yi is torn between Mei (Karen Tong), SaSa (Yeung Yuen Yee) and Lung (Chung Lai Kai)...

 Under Construction!

 review:
This is the third part of the Detective Investigation Files Trilogy. The story is still pretty much the same, although the ranks of the main characters Dai Yung (Dao Tai Yu) and Yi Chi (Leung Wing Chung) are higher and they were separated in two different police stations. But they get to work with eachother soon and together they solve many cases. But the most appealing about this serie is of course the romantic relationships of the characters/ Dai Yung and Jesse (Kenix Kwok) are finally back together after a dangerous adventure in China. But there relationships is soon showing some black stains due to Jesse's amnesia. Yi Chi (Leung Wing Chung) is finally getting over his lost wife and found a new girlfriend, but there's another girl in his life...
New and important characters are introduced, like the nosy aunt of Jesse and the brother of Dai Yung (Hoi Chun Kit)

  Peter Fong's opinion:
This is certainly THE best detective serie I've ever seen and believe me, I've seen a LOT. This one is even better than my previous favorite, Police Cadet with Tony Leung!!  Humor, suspense, action, mystery, and romance it got them all, but the most appealing of this serie is the relationship between the main characters Cheung Tai Yung (Dao Tai Yu) and his girlfriend Jesse (Kenix Kwok). From the Detective Investigation Files Trilogy, this one is my favorite. The story is much more well-thought in this part. As you may expect from a detective serie, police cases are taking a important place in it. One case is about two or three episodes long. In the previous parts the killer/victim will show up on their "own" story so you can know who's the killer right away.  The "criminals" in this part on the other hand will show up a few episodes/ stories earlier in the serie so you won't know who'll be the killer/victim.
Another great thing is that there are "guests" in thist part. Like the former partners of Tai Yung & Yin Tsai (introduced in the previous parts) would show up now and then to help them solve a case.

I really hoped that there would be a time when, let say, Felix Wong Yat Wah from O Kay would show up suddenly and help Tai Yung & co solve a case ^_^.
There are of course some negatives things to say, but it's hardly noticable and won't spoil the fun to watch this serie in any way.
For instance: Tai Yung's character has changed. He's much more unreasonable towards Jessie in this time... and their relationship will be having lots of trouble again. But without spoiling the story, I can ad that this part of the trilogy has an very satisfying ending.

Yun Tung  died right after Day Yung told her that he still loves Jessie.
Later Wing Tein was shot too, on the day of his wedding. Jessie saw Dai Yung at the scene of the crime and suspected that he did it but didn't say anything. She believed that Day Yung wants Wing Tein dead, because Day Yung thought that Wing Tein let his brother (ah Fay) die and that the gangster friend of wing Tein has something to do with the death of Yun Tung (Yun Tung saw WT's gangster friend on the day that she died)
Tein didn't die but was in a coma.  Dai Yung found Tein's gangster friend but he was found dead later. Jesse again assumed that Tai Yung did it so she decided to let herself be hypnotized by that police-psyhiatrist. But the hypnose ended before she can remember every detail and from what she remembered it really looked like Day Yung shot Wing Tein. She still didn't say anything, until she saw how sad her auntie was and told her everything. Her auntie, unreasonable as she is, immidiately went to the police station where Day Yung worked and accused him. Day Yung got "arrested" and during the interrogation the head of Chim sir suddenly died (poisoned). Chim sir "wat" Day Yung. Day Yung already knew that Chim sir is the bad fruit because he saw the back of Chim sir at the scene where Wing Tein was shot, but of course he didn't had any proof so he decided to flee by holding Jessie as his hostage.

He hides in a in the old house of C Lung, waiting for Yee Jai. So he finds Madam to help him find the truth.
During this time Chim Sir tried to kill Wing Teim before he can wake up, but Jessie's aunt stopped him on time and he confessed everything to her.
He confessed that he and the gangster friend of Wing Tein made a deal that they would kill the killer of his daughter. Because of this deal those two blackmailed him into stealing the money of that kidnapping case.He also poisoned Yun Tung because she saw him and the gangster friend of Wing Tein at the same place at the same day. Although she didn't saw them two together, Chim sir didn't want to take any risks so he just killed her.
Just after he told everything, Wing Teim was waking up so he tries to kill him. Day Yung, Yee Tsai, Madam and C lung just arrived at the scene and tried to arrest Chim sir, but somehow he could take Jessie as a hostage. At the end he is arrested, but he had shot Jessie. Jessie went into coma, because the bullet hit her head (not sure about that, but her head got injured anyway).
Later Jessie woke up (after Wing Teim and her Auntie got married) and remembered everything. Day Yung still loves Jessie (I can't understand why he would still love someone who "shut mai"ed him...) and Jessie (remembered that she) loves Day Yung and they decide get married again.
The End.
Yee Jai finally got C lung. C lung decided to go to Europe with his little sister. She already went through the custom and is waiting to board the plane, but yee Jai runned through the security guards of the airport and while he's being pulled back he yelled that he only loves C Lung and that he'd already lost someone he truly loved and begged her not to be the second one.
San San saw this scene, because she was also at the airport. Waiting to board another plane. San San had already decided to leave Yee Jai before this, because she knew that Yee jai only loved C Lung. She took Yee jai to a church and told him to "rehearse" their marriage. (she only wants to hear Yee Jai saying "I do" and put the ring on her finger)
